Optional upgrade · No consensus changes
This release focuses on reducing node resource usage and retiring obsolete proof machinery while preserving independent verification from genesis.
P2P performance
- 72% lower average CPU usage under comparable mainnet peer load
- 1.66× faster HistoryStep verification under live peer load
- About 98% less CPU use in the local retained object serving benchmark
- Bounded digest cache for 64 objects with concurrent request coalescing
- Full native verification remains in place for incoming objects, blocks and proofs
- 215 P2P tests passed
Legacy proof retirement
- Old HistoryStep matrices removed from release binaries and input archives
- History before v2 verified through retirement certificates under independently pinned keys
- Retirement proof included in the node binary for synchronization through existing v2.0.3 peers
- Smaller node binaries across all platforms by removing the old matrices
- Mainnet cold sync and restart passed on four CPUs with an 8 GiB memory limit
Security review
October attack review updated. The v2 soundness certificate was reproduced unchanged, retaining its NIST PQC Category 1 assessment under the published certificate conditions.
Updating
Install and start normally. Existing databases, wallet keys, receipts and contract evidence are preserved. Nodes running v2.0.3 remain compatible.
